Rev. Sara Cogsil, Senior Pastor
Pastor Sara was born and raised in Ohio and is a graduate of Muskingum College and Trinity Lutheran Seminary. She is currently pursuing her Doctor in Ministry at United Lutheran Seminary. Ordained in December, 2007, she has served two congregations - University Lutheran in East Lansing, MI and Trinity Lutheran in Lakewood, OH. Most recently, she also served HopeWood Outdoors as the Associate Director. Pastor Sara believes strongly that ministry is relational and knows personally the transformative power of God’s love and grace lived out in community. She is passionate about worship, preaching, children and youth ministry, and living our faith out loud.
Ken Simon, Interim Minister of Music
Ken Simon was born and raised in Ann Arbor and was baptized at Trinity in June 1995. His mother, Paige Simon, directed the handbell choir at Trinity from 1985 to 1994 and also from 1999 to 2002. Ken graduated from Concordia University Ann Arbor in 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts in Music and the University of Michigan in 2020 with a Master of Music in Sacred Music. From May 2021 to June 2024, Ken served as the Director of Music Ministries at Messiah Lutheran Church and School in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He returned to Ann Arbor to be closer to family and continue working on the Post-Baccalaureate Teacher Certification Program in Instrumental Music Education at Eastern Michigan University. In his free time, Ken enjoys playing golf and tennis, as well as practicing the organ. Ken is looking forward to serving as the Interim Minister of Music at Trinity and getting to know the congregation.
Dolly Collins, Organist
Dolly has been the organist at Trinity for 44 years. She plays for the traditional services and accompanies the Sanctuary Choir, cantors and soloists. She has a BS in Music Education with a minor in organ. Dolly is also the accompanist for the choirs at Saline High School, Voices Valiant, a 50-or-better choir, and teaches private piano lessons. She is available for weddings and memorial services.
Onda Cymes, Accountant
Onda began working for Trinity in March, 2016. She is a life-long member of St. Mark Lutheran Church where she currently holds the position of Treasurer. She has a degree in Corporate Accounting from Cleary University and has been employed at Domino's Pizza for 44 years.
Leena Elawar, Office Manager
Leena joined Trinity in August, 2022. She was born in the United States, but spent most of her childhood in Greece, Portugal, and Lebanon. Her family moved to Ann Arbor in 1993. Her background encompasses 12 years in grants and contracts management, along with 8 years in sales. In 2016, she left the corporate environment to pursue her passion for holistic healing, becoming a certified Reiki Practitioner and Sound Therapist.
